Well, just off the top of my head - they won't do anything for anyone if there is no film for them!

There goes the re-sale...........

Are you joking? Long after the fall of civilization, when all other signs of our existence is gone, there will still be Land cameras sitting around. Hell, if you have a rummage sale and you don't have a Polaroid for sale you're a freak of nature.

What will be valuable will be film.

Hell ya, Im gonna put 3 in a mylar bag and zip it with 10 rolls of film and bucket them and put it away . :emotions16:

M Ho ; what about silvers shelf life that Jim Sinclair on Puplava said Silver will top out at 32$ max. MHO; what are you talking about? ever heard of relics? Ever hear that interview? Industrial decline will be silvers demise. Not!.

He may be correct. Got a Brownie?

This is PM /SHTF/Teotwaki NWO showbusiness. Just like the real estae show business no money down show biz of the 80's.

I still think theres gonna be a bigtime correction in oil , and a short term psychological boost to the Amerikan sheeple and there markets , The treasury and the Luminists need to build up the public confidence a few more times in order to prime the next rape. . Thats the time to buy. I hate hypers / socalled prepers , even the ones on our side. Weimar is the dejoir...... (may have typos):wavey:

Time for camerasaremoney.com or polaroidovergold.net, or what about the upcoming polaroid crisis report, $19.99 shipping included. They'll only be tens of thousands of them in the world, sounds like a rare collectible item to me.

{Take it in good humor}

Nickels arent rare either. Get a ittle of everything. 50 rolls of dento-tape, T-brushes- A to Z its all a bonus.

Where in the future can you take a picture and develope it on the spot? I think its a valuable Polariod to have.:wavey:

Did you have to go there Mater Ho? I have quietly been planning the demise of my husbands turntable and GIANT speakers from the late 70s. Evidently he didn't get the memo about new technology like ipods and small sized quality speakers. He still judges speakers by their ability to double as furniture... but not for long!!! Perhaps a fatal accident could be befall these relics that are producing inferior sounds but mostly collecting dust.
How about a burglary where the only thing stolen is the stereo..? :bear_whistle:

My Sansui 20000's of the seventies era are still the best reproduction I have ever heard. It was like being in the concert hall.:wavey:

It's like saying bic is better than zippo. More convenient, cheaper etc, but not better.

Well, in this one thing (and maybe the ONLY one thing) you husband is right about!!!! (Well, except, possibly, marrying you - so he made two smart decisions!) The turntable is good to hold onto cause, now and then, one still finds LPs that are not released on CD, and one can record them to CD........and he is right about the speakers.........and I am not giving mine up either - they help keep the floor in place if there is ever an earthquake.

And I am not Mater Ho (that would be my mother! *lol*)

Lol! We only got rid of our "giant speakers" not too very long ago (you think your husband is bad, I used to have a couple of those things behind the seat in my truck! Lol!). We will never, ever get rid of our turntables. We have a huge album collection, and I always prefer to listen to something on vinyl instead of CD if I have the vinyl. CDs have an annoyingly "compressed" sound to them that I don't really like.

For those hoping to make money on the Polaroids in the future, good luck. I still have my first camera, a Brownie Hawkeye, and yes, it still works (got to rewind 120 film onto a 620 spool, though). It's only worth about $14.

sorry about the name..:s9:

I can live with the turntable even if all our old dinosaur rock LPs are scratched up and digitally remastered MP3 sound is 100 times cleaner and crisper. I can even live with the old reciever...but the giant disco size speakers have got to go!!!

Bigger is not always better.... :bear_tongue:

edited to add I found stuff like looks like my stereo under vintage stero equipment..lol

You cannot pay one BIT of attention to what Sinclair says about silver...He is 100% gold through and through.

Sinclair got burned when he worked for the Hunt brothers in 1980 and has never since viewed silver as anything but a dirty tagalong to gold.

He has OK fundamentals, but when he talks about much else, ignore him.

Puplava on the other hand is pretty sharp and he has good guests too.

Re: Another hoarder item to stash

Because Polaroid film has the developer in the same package it will have a shorter shelf life than ordinary film, Even kept in a cool, dry space you might be looking at 2 years. It isn't worth the hassle, and this is coming from the guy who mourned the passing of 620, and hunted down the last 127 B&W film (made in Zagreb before the war broke out in the '90s).

Instead of film, take a few sketching classes and learn to draw it yourself.

you know, the only thing that keeps these speakers working is that somehow mysteriously they keep the red and black wires in the back in proper places. If by chance, somehow, the wires were to get mistakenly put in the wrong configuration then the speakers would surely die :bear_whistle:
